Your image gets printed directly onto a sheet of 1/16" thick aluminum. The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. The tiger swallowtail is lovely to watch as it flies or feeds.
There is a large area of thistle where they love to feed during the early summer. Sometimes I'm lucky enough to capture a bumble bee in the picture as they also enjoy feeding on the thistles.
